Li Wei, head of the United Front Work Department of the Jiangxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, is being investigated for suspected serious violations of Party discipline and national laws, the country's top anti-corruption watchdogs announced on Wednesday.

The announcement was released online by the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision. No further details were disclosed.

Public records show that Li, 55, a native of Henan province, joined the Party in December 1991 and began his career in July 1993. He previously worked for China North Industries Group Corporation Limited, a major platform for the development of mechanized, digitized and intelligent equipment for the People's Liberation Army.

He also held various positions in the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, China's cabinet-level state asset regulator.

In July 2020, he became vice-governor of Jilin province. Since September 2025, he has served as head of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Jiangxi Provincial Committee and as a member of the standing committee of the CPC provincial committee.
