Xinhua, May 07, 2026 Adjust font size:

The 12th China International Big Data Industry Expo will be held in Guiyang, capital of southwest China's Guizhou Province, in August this year, local authorities announced on Thursday.

As the world's first expo themed on big data, the event has become a bellwether for global digital economy development and a key platform for exchanging industrial achievements since its inception in 2015.

The 2026 expo will be hosted by the National Data Administration and organized by the Guizhou Provincial People's Government. It will feature six exhibition sections covering 60,000 square meters of professional exhibition space.

Fu Tao, vice mayor of Guiyang, said that Guiyang is making all-out efforts to build itself into a computing power supply base for the country and a digital economy innovation hub in western China.

To date, the city has gathered 27 large and super-large computing centers, with total computing power exceeding 165 Eflops. Intelligent computing accounts for over 98 percent of the total, with a localization rate reaching 90 percent, making it one of the regions with the most abundant and capable localized computing resources in China. ■
