Mainland welcomes Taiwan enterprises to pursue development amid buzz over motorcycle victory

Xinhua, April 09, 2026 Adjust font size:

A mainland spokeswoman on Wednesday welcomed Taiwan compatriots and enterprises to pursue development on the mainland, following heated discussions on the island over the international championship won by mainland motorcycle manufacturer ZXMOTO.

Zhu Fenglian, spokeswoman for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, made the remarks at a regular press conference when asked about online reactions in Taiwan, where many netizens praised the rising quality of mainland manufacturing and called for stronger cross-Strait industrial cooperation.

Zhu said that more mainland brands and products, including robots, drones, new energy vehicles and motorcycles, have expanded into global markets, gaining recognition and becoming consumers' preferred choices, a trend built on the mainland's full-fledged industrial system and strong manufacturing foundation.

During the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-30), the mainland will continue to advance high-quality development and build a modern industrial system anchored in advanced manufacturing, offering broader space for cross-Strait industrial cooperation, she noted.

"We welcome Taiwan compatriots and businesses to pursue development on the mainland, deepen exchanges and cooperation, and jointly strengthen the Chinese economy," Zhu said.
