China reports current account surplus in 2025

 China registered a current account surplus of more than 5.24 trillion yuan (about 757.87 billion U.S. dollars) last year, according to data released by the State Administration of Foreign Exchange on Friday.

The data also showed that the country's capital and financial account had posted a deficit of almost 5.52 trillion yuan in 2025.

By the end of last year, China's external financial assets had totaled nearly 11.79 trillion U.S. dollars, while external liabilities exceeded 7.71 trillion dollars, resulting in net external assets of over 4.07 trillion dollars. ■
