China will boost imports to promote balanced trade in 2026, according to a government work report submitted Thursday to the country's top legislature for deliberation.

In the 2026-2030 period, China will strengthen the coordination between imports and exports, place equal emphasis on goods trade and trade in services, and coordinate foreign investment attraction and outbound investment to cultivate new strengths in international trade and two-way investment cooperation, according to a draft outline of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030) also submitted Thursday.
