An embroidery art exhibition from China's Chongqing and Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region opened Wednesday at the Tap Seac Gallery in the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR), showcasing the splendid colors of traditional embroidery.

The exhibition features 154 pieces/sets of embroidery works, highlighting four types of embroidery techniques, including Shu embroidery, Wuxi wedding embroidery, Youzhou Miao embroidery, and "Xilankapu" (traditional brocade woven by Tujia people), as well as three types of embroidery techniques by the Uygur, Kirgiz, and Kazakh peoples from Xinjiang.

Cheang Kai-meng, acting president of the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR government, said the exhibition features representative embroidery from Chongqing and Xinjiang, enabling residents and visitors to learn about the regions' distinct folk cultures and appreciate traditional Chinese heritage.

The exhibition runs until March 15.
