Taicang, Jiangsu province, recently hosted its 2026 spring symposiums for both foreign-funded and private enterprises, bringing together key industry players and government representatives to discuss strategies for growth and collaboration.

The events underscored Taicang's commitment to fostering a robust business environment for both foreign and domestic companies.

The symposium for foreign-funded enterprises attracted representatives from global giants such as Schaeffler, Skechers, Krones, and Nike. Discussions centered on production operations, project development, and industry collaboration.

Government officials engaged with company representatives to address their needs, enhancing confidence in supply chain improvements, innovation, and investment expansion.

Known as the "Home of German Enterprises", Taicang has long integrated foreign enterprises into its development strategy. These companies drive technological innovation and industrial upgrades, contributing significantly to the city's economic growth.

The symposium served as a platform for open dialogue, allowing companies to share operational insights and future plans. Schaeffler, for instance, is focusing on electric drive transformation and smart manufacturing, while Skechers is building its Asian logistics hub in Taicang.

Wang Jiacheng, head of Krones China, praised the symposium's relaxed atmosphere, which facilitated open communication and efficient demand matching among industry chain partners.

Nike and other companies provided feedback on industrial support and talent services, making the exchange direct and effective.

Zhang Yangchao, general manager of Skechers China Project, highlighted the value of having a responsive government, saying that it boosts confidence and prospects for businesses in Taicang.

Taicang's commitment to a high-quality business environment is evident in its support for foreign enterprises. The city offers comprehensive project assistance, cross-border services, and optimized living arrangements for expatriates.

Alongside the foreign-funded enterprise symposium, Taicang also held a Spring Symposium for Private Enterprises. Entrepreneurs from various sectors discussed their operational challenges and development strategies.

The government emphasized its support for the private sector, recognizing it as a vital pillar of economic development.

A three-year action plan was unveiled to support private enterprise growth, emphasizing environment optimization, enterprise excellence, and resource assurance. This plan aims to stabilize expectations and boost confidence among private businesses.
