I. Background
To further disseminate successful practices in poverty reduction worldwide, deepen poverty reduction partnerships, promote South-South Cooperation in poverty reduction, and to build a global community of shared future free from poverty, in 2018, the International Poverty Reduction Center in China (IPRCC), the China Internet Information Center (CIIC), the World Bank (WB) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), as well as three UN agencies based in Rome, including the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), and UN World Food Programme (WFP), jointly launched the Global Solicitation on Best Poverty Reduction Practices initiative. Taking cases as a vehicle, it aims to distill poverty reduction models, share national approaches to poverty governance, and develop a series of public knowledge products on poverty reduction, thereby contributing to the achievement of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. As of now, the campaign has been held six times, with over 4,500 case studies collected from 88 countries and regions, and over 600 among them selected as excellent ones. The seventh round of the campaign has officially been launched in recent days.
