Overseas enterprises have shown strong enthusiasm for the eighth China International Import Expo (CIIE), with contracted exhibition space already exceeding 300,000 square meters, its organizers said on Tuesday.

Ge Hong, deputy director of the CIIE Bureau, said that the eighth CIIE will take place in Shanghai from Nov. 5 to 10.

Trade delegations are being organized, professional visitor registration has opened, applications for supporting events are being accepted, and targeted investment promotion and matchmaking activities are intensifying, Ge said.

At a pre-exhibition matchmaking event on Tuesday, Xu Meizhen, deputy general manager of BWT China Trading Co., Ltd., noted that over past CIIEs, the company had debuted more than 20 new products, including five Asian debuts, which have received positive market feedback in China. ■
