A villager of Changtai village in Boli county, Heilongjiang province, was bitten on the left hand by a tiger on Monday morning and is currently receiving treatment at a medical institution, according to a statement released by the county's forestry and grassland bureau on Monday afternoon.

The injured villager is emotionally stable with stable vital signs, the statement said.

At 6:38 am on Monday, the 110 command center of the county's public security bureau received a report that a tiger was discovered at around 6 am.

Staff members from the county's public security bureau, emergency management bureau and forestry and grassland bureau arrived at the scene to track the animal.

The statement also reminds the public to take precautions for safety.

Residents of nearby townships should promptly take precautions if they discover traces of large wild animals and report them immediately while ensuring their own safety, the statement said.

A staff member from the county's emergency management bureau told Shangyou News that they had conducted a joint investigation to track the tiger with infrared thermal imaging devices and drones.
