Beijing to provide subsidies to companies for employee training

Beijing is encouraging businesses to train their employees as part of its efforts to improve the skills of the overall workforce, according to a document recently released by the municipal human resources and finance authorities.

All businesses, including small and micro businesses that have filed for social security in Beijing, are eligible to receive subsidies for both online and offline training programs, the Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security said.

The city launched an online vocational skills improvement management platform on June 28. The platform is accessible through both PC and mobile devices and offers training courses ranging from workplace safety and corporate management to foreign languages.

The subsidies from the city for such training programs can be used for the businesses' educational expenses, social insurance payment, and special bonuses for the trainees who complete their trainings.

The deadline for the applications for the subsidies is Dec. 31.
