BEIJING, July 26 (Xinhua) -- China's top court on Monday issued a document calling for better judicial service and protection to serve the country's rural vitalization and modernization of agriculture and rural areas.
The Supreme People's Court (SPC) document includes 26 articles on promoting judicial work related to both high-quality and efficient agricultural industry and better living environment in rural areas.
It demands strict punishment for smuggling farm products as well as production and sale of fake or substandard agricultural materials.
The document urges putting in place the strictest protection for farmlands.
In the document, the SPC calls on judicial agencies to strictly implement the Civil Code while dealing with rural land-related disputes, demanding enhanced guarantee for agriculture-related intellectual property rights, proper handling of fishing ban violations in key waters and better protection of the agro-ecosystem.
In respect to rural construction, the document says crackdown on organized crimes in rural areas should be conducted as part of routine work and violations of rights of children, women, senior citizens and the disabled must be heavily punished.
Migrant workers' rights should also be properly protected, it says. Enditem
