Anti-epidemic film "Chinese Doctors" continues to lead Chinese box office

BEIJING, July 22 (Xinhua) -- Domestic anti-epidemic-themed movie "Chinese Doctors" continued to top Chinese box office chart on Wednesday, with its total box office revenue topping 1 billion yuan (about 150 million U.S. dollars), China Movie Data Information Network reported Thursday.


The movie earned about 32.7 million yuan on the 13th day since its debut.


Coming in second was domestic musical comedy "The Day We Lit Up The Sky," raking in about 10.5 million yuan on Wednesday, the fifth day of its release.


The movie depicts how a student on grade retention meets his like-minded friends in school and together they pursue the victory of a dancing competition despite every adversity.


It was followed by domestic movie "1921" which tells stories about the founding of the Communist Party of China in the year 1921. The film took in over 3.8 million yuan Wednesday, with its total box office reaching 472 million yuan.
