Chery recalls 82,867 vehicles in China

BEIJING, April 11 (Xinhua) -- Chery Automobile Co. has decided to recall 82,867 vehicles from the Chinese market starting April 15, according to the country's highest quality authority.

The recall involved 82,867 Ruihu 3x models produced between Aug. 13, 2016, and April 30, 2019, said a statement on the State Administration for Market Regulation website.

Defective engine components of the affected vehicles may lead to occasional poor contact and even engine failure in extreme cases, posing safety risks.

The automaker promised to conduct checks on the recalled vehicles and make adjustments, the statement said.
