Pearl cultivation industry helps villagers increase income in Jiangxi

A worker inserts a nucleus into a mussel to form a pearl in a cultivation base in Tajiang Village of Wannian County, east China's Jiangxi Province, March 3, 2021. In Wannian County, there are about 3,000 women working in pearl cultivation industry. Many of them once lived in poor households, and took up their posts after free training. Nowadays, their per capita income has increased by 70,000 to 80,000 yuan (about 10,822 to 12,368 U.S. dollars) each year. (Xinhua/Zhou Mi)
