China, Caribbean countries hold meeting on COVID-19 response

China and nine Caribbean countries with diplomatic relations held their second special vice foreign ministers' meeting on COVID-19 on Wednesday via video link.

Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Zheng Zeguang and Kenneth Darroux, foreign minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, co-chaired the meeting.

Zheng briefed his Caribbean counterparts on China's prevention and control of COVID-19 as well as the situation regarding its social and economic development.

He commended the cooperation between the two sides on jointly fighting the pandemic and stressed that China will take more concrete measures to support the Caribbean countries on their COVID-19 response and economic recovery.

Representatives of the Caribbean countries spoke highly of China's achievements on COVID-19 response and the resumption of work and production.

They expressed their gratitude for China's selfless aid and their willingness to deepen cooperation with China in areas across the board, enhance coordination and communication on international affairs, and restore economic and social development as soon as possible.
