An annual competition aimed at boosting innovation and entrepreneurship among Chinese students pursuing higher and vocational education concluded Wednesday in Harbin, capital of northeast China's Heilongjiang Province.

A total of 179,000 entrepreneurship projects from 2,786 educational institutions across the country participated in the contest, which kicked off in June, according to the Communist Youth League of China Central Committee, a sponsor of the competition.

Candidate projects were divided into five groups focusing on scientific innovation, poverty relief, city governance, environment protection, and cultural creativity.

Zhejiang University won the competition. Some activities including the final were held online at this year's event in which over 6 million people took part. Enditem
