China removes 105 mobile apps from app stores

Xinhua,December 09, 2020 Adjust font size:

A total of 105 mobile apps were removed from app stores for spreading pornography, violence, terror or other illegal content, China's internet regulator announced Tuesday.

These apps are the first to be removed as part of a crackdown, starting Nov. 5, on apps containing illegal content or providing illegal services, according to the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC).

The CAC also announced that eight app stores that failed to strictly examine the products they provide were no longer allowed to provide app download services.

To create a healthier cyberspace, the CAC has vowed to oversee the apps and app stores strictly, and do away with illegal apps and app stores in time. Enditem
