Senior official urges better training on foreign-related legal affairs

A senior official has called for greater efforts to improve the training of legal talent capable of handling foreign-related legal affairs to better serve the work of the Party and the State.

Wang Chen, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and head of the China Law Society, made the remarks during an inspection tour to four Beijing-based universities renowned for legal education.

After learning about the development of the discipline, Wang emphasized the need to enact more laws and train more legal professionals.

He also stressed improving the system of the discipline of international law and establishing a practice-oriented training mechanism for foreign-related legal talent. This, he added, can serve the national strategy, contribute to legislation in key areas, emerging and foreign-related spheres. He also called for enhancing China's voice and influence in international legal affairs and global governance. Enditem
