China to provide 51.56 bln yuan of funding to key impoverished regions

Poverty alleviation funding is part of the institutional support that China provides in its battle against poverty and can be a lifeline for people who are impoverished. According to the State Council Leading Group Office of Poverty Alleviation and Development, 51.56 billion yuan (US$7.27 billion) of poverty relief funding will be provided to six key impoverished provinces and regions in the country this year, namely Yunnan, Gansu,Guizhou, Xinjiang, Sichuan and Guangxi.
