Over 200 bln digital transactions processed by Chinese banks in 2019

China's banks handled more than 223.39 billion digital transactions comprising a total of 2,607.04 trillion yuan (US$386.375 trillion) in 2019 according to data that was released by the People's Bank of China, the country's central bank. About 78.19 billion of the transactions were completed online via computers, more than 101.43 billion were made on mobile devices, and approximately 176 million were made by phone. The figures are up 37.14 percent, 67.57 percent, and 11.12 percent year-on-year, respectively.
