Consumption constitutes 57.8 pct of economic growth in China, continues to be primary driver

According to the National Bureau of Statistics of China, consumption constituted 57.8 percent of economic growth in the country in 2019, contributed 3.5 percentage points to its growth, and was the primary driver of growth for the sixth consecutive year.

The role of consumption in China’s economic developmentwill continue to expand as the consumption environment improves andi ts structure continues to be upgraded, market expectations are enhanced,and residents become more willing to consume.
