Police chief stresses defusing risks, ensuring security

State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Zhao Kezhi on Saturday called for efforts to prevent and defuse major risks, ensure security and maintain stability.

Zhao made the remarks at a meeting gathering police chiefs from across the country.

Stressing political security, social stability and peaceful lives of the people, Zhao demanded a secure and stable environment to build a moderately prosperous society in all aspects and facilitate the completion of the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020).

He also urged the police to strengthen their political work, reform, use of technologies and self-governance, noting that measures concerning the country's political security and social stability should be fully carried out.
