Xi stresses efforts to raise cultural-ethical standards

Huang Kunming, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, reads out an instruction from Chinese President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, concerning the selection and honoring of national-level ethical role models at a symposium in Beijing, capital of China, Sept. 5, 2019. Chinese Vice Premier Sun Chunlan, also a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, also attended the symposium. At Thursday's symposium, a decision to honor 58 people as ethical role models was announced, while recognition was also given to another 257 nominees for the awards. (Xinhua/Liu Bin)
