Top political advisor calls for efforts to build consensus

China's top political advisor has stressed the importance of improving awareness-raising tours for major and special tasks to extensively build consensus.

Wang Yang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, made the call at the end of a touring activity held Tuesday in Wuhan, central China's Hubei Province.

This activity is one of the CPPCC National Committee's serial celebrations marking the 70th founding anniversary of the CPPCC.

In recognizing the effectiveness of the awareness-raising tour system since its establishment one year ago, Wang said that the tours have received extensive attention and praises in all walks of life.

He also underlined the importance of boosting awareness and responsibility in Party governance, making sure that CPPCC members make a full use of their influence and have their say in telling well the stories of China, the CPPCC, the system of multiparty cooperation, while continuing to improve the tours' quality and effectiveness.
