China's top court, procuratorate improve work in CPC education campaign

Xinhua,August 19, 2019 Adjust font size:

China's Supreme People's Court (SPC) and Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) are making efforts to improve their work to bolster the ongoing Communist Party of China (CPC) education campaign themed "staying true to our founding mission."

To uncover existing problems and make improvements, officials from the SPC visited primary-level courts where they carried out investigations and research and collected opinions from local legislators, political advisors and court staff.

Questionnaires and letters were also sent to solicit opinions and suggestions from CPC members, staff and lower-level courts, according to the SPC.

The SPP focused the improvement work on intensified supervision to hold relevant officials accountable for intervening in judicial activities.

It also launched a special supervision campaign and took various measures, such as strengthened monitoring and information transparency, to ensure lawyers' rights in their practice.
