Cultural consumption new driver of growth for China's tourism: report

Xinhua,August 12, 2019 Adjust font size:

In the first half of 2019, cultural consumption has played a significant role in the growth of the country's tourism, said the Ministry of Culture and Tourism (MCT).

According to a report by the MCT, there is huge potential in the cultural consumption by those traveling to other provinces, regions or municipalities.

In a survey, 80 percent of the respondents said they are satisfied with their cultural consumption.

However, the report said that there is still much room for improvement in terms of transportation and catering facilities around cultural venues and activities, as well as the opening hours of cultural venues.
