"The Bravest," a Chinese film paying homage to firefighters who risked their lives to protect property from fire in a coastal oil-tank zone, will be released on Aug. 1.

Starring Chinese actors Huang Xiaoming and Du Jiang, and actress Tan Zhuo, the film is adapted from a long report based on an oil-pipe explosion incident in Dalian, northeast China's Liaoning Province, in 2010, said director Tony Chan.

Chan said, to present the firefighters' life and duty in a realistic way, he interviewed a lot of firefighters who participated in the rescue work of the incident.

"From them, I gained a strong faith to make the film a good one," he said.
