Tourists wait for departure onboard the first Beijing-Hotan tourist express train in 2018 at the Beijing West Railway Station in Beijing, capital of China, June 24, 2018. The Beijing-Hotan tourist express train service was launched in 2015 as an initiative to boost tourism in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Over the years, the service had run on an irregular timetable. Departing from Beijing on Sunday, the first such train in 2018 will take some 400 tourists to destinations including Hotan, Kashgar, Korla, Turpan, Hami, Zhangye and Dunhuang on a 16-day railway tour.
