TBILISI, June 2 (Xinhua) -- Two people were killed in an accident at an open extraction coal quarry in Tkibuli town in central Georgia on Saturday.

According to the country's Internal Affairs Ministry, the bodies were being examined to identify the cause of the death.

So far there is no further information on the detailed cause of the accident.

An investigation has been launched to check if there is any violation of safety rules in mining, according to the ministry.

Another six miners died and three have been injured in Tkibuli as the ceiling collapsed at the Mindeli coal mine in April this year. Enditem
