Forest fire put out in NE China

SHENYANG, June 1 (Xinhua) -- A forest fire in northeast China's Liaoning Province was put out Friday, the local fire department said.

The forest fire, which broke out around 3 p.m. near a reservoir in Suizhong County, engulfed more than five hectares of forest.

The fire was put out by firefighters as of 7 p.m. No casualties or damage have been reported so far, local fire authorities said.

An investigation is underway. Enditem
