Belarus to spend as much on security as needed: President Lukashenko

Xinhua,June 01, 2018 Adjust font size:

MINSK, May 31 (Xinhua) -- Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said on Thursday that Belarus will spend as much on security as it is necessary.

"Belarus will not be involved in an arms race. However, due to the current military and political situation, we cannot afford different proportions of public expenditure financing," Lukashenko said at a session on the results of the inspection of the Armed Forces.

The Belarusian leader stressed that the Belarusian army should respond effectively to modern challenges and threats.

He also said it is unacceptable that costly weapons are not fully used or repaired due to the lack of professionalism of individual commanders. Enditem
