Urgent: Giuseppe Conte to lead gov't as Italian Prime Minister-designate

ROME, May 31 (Xinhua) -- Italian law professor Giuseppe Conte was reappointed as Prime Minister-designate to lead a coalition government on Thursday, the presidential palace stated.

His name was submitted to President Sergio Mattarella by anti-establishment Five Star Movement (M5S) and far-right League parties, which had already named him for the post in a previous bid last week.

His government will be sworn in on Friday. Enditem
