HARARE, May 31 (Xinhua) -- The following are the news highlights in Zimbabwe's major media outlets on Thursday.

-- Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Wednesday proclaimed July 30 as the date for harmonized elections to choose the President, National Assembly members and councilors. (The Herald)

-- The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) said Wednesday Zimbabwe is now formally in the election period following the proclamation of the election date and the final voters' roll will be made available a few days before the sitting of the Nomination Courts. (The Herald)
