Traffic man stabbed to death in Saudi Arabia

RIYADH, May 31 (Xinhua) -- A traffic man was stabbed to death, and his security vehicle and gun were stolen in Taif area in Mecca province on Wednesday night, Al Arabiya local news reported on Thursday.

The victim was carrying out his routine duties near a shopping mall when the attack took place. He was sent to hospital and died of severe wounds.

The two attackers clashed with security personnel, and one of them was injured and arrested, while the second one fled the scene.

The attack is yet to be confirmed by official sources.

Those attacks are usually carried out by members of Islamic State (IS) militant group that are forming sleeping cells in Saudi Arabia, or groups of Shiite youth who are seeking more rights in the state with mostly Sunni population. Enditem
