Algeria seizes 701 kg of cocaine

ALGIERS, May 30 (Xinhua) -- Algerian Defense Ministry on Wednesday said its troops seized 701 kg of cocaine in the port of the western province of Oran.
This mega quantity of cocaine was hidden in a container of frozen meat on board a cargo ship coming from Brazil, the source added.
This is the first time such a huge quantity of cocaine is seized in Algeria, as the most common drug here is cannabis.
The amount of drugs confiscated in Algeria fell to 48 tons in 2017 compared to 109 tons in 2016 and 126 tons in 2015. Enditem
