British stocks up 0.75 pct Wednesday

LONDON, May 30 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Wednesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up 56.93 points or 0.75 percent at 7,689.57 points.

Royal Dutch Shell A, the international oil group, soared 2.64 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. BP and Royal Dutch Shell B rose by 2.56 percent and 2.28 percent, respectively.

G4S, a British multinational security services company, with its shares losing 1.85 percent. Royal Bank of Scotland Group dropped 1.39 percent. Melrose Industries, an investment company, dropped 1.06 percent. Enditem
