TEHRAN, May 30 (Xinhua) -- Strong wind, coupled with thick dust and rain on Wednesday evening, destroyed power posts, caused damage to the residential districts in Iran's capital Tehran and halted flights in Tehran's international Imam Khomeini Airport (IKA) and Mehrabad Airport.

Also, the flights destined to Tehran had to return to the cities from which they had taken off.

The severe wind, which blew for half an hour before the dusk, also knocked down trees, damaged cars, cut power supply in some parts of the capital.

No casualties has been reported. Enditem
