AMMAN, May 23 (Xinhua) -- The second batch of Gazans who were injured recently in clashes with Israel in Gaza Strip arrived in Jordan late Tuesday for medical treatment, state-owned Petra News Agency reported Wednesday.
More than 20 Gazans arrived at the King Hussein medical center in the Jordanian capital Amman for various injuries they sustained recently after Israeli forces opened fire on protestors on the occasion of the Nakba day.
Around 60 people were killed and more than 2,400 were injured during the confrontations on the day, which prompted King Abdullah II of Jordan to order immediate assistance and bring Jordan the serious cases for treatment.
The first group of the injured Gazans arrived in Jordan last Friday.
After the killing of the Gazans, the Jordanian leader issued directives for sending more medical supplies and humanitarian aid convoys to Gaza Strip.
The King also ordered sending more medical supplies and equipments to enhance the capability of a Jordanian field hospital located in Gaza. Enditem
