Hannover loan Arsenal striker Asano

BERLIN, May 23 (Xinhua) -- Hannover have signed Japan international Takuma Asano from Premier League outfit Arsenal on loan, the Bundesliga club confirmed on Wednesday.

The "Reds" have increased the variability on their striker position after signing Takuma Asano, who has put pen to paper on a season-long loan deal, until June 2019.

"Takuma is a versatile attacker. He brings a lot of speed on the pitch. We are convinced that he has great potential and will develop further at Hannover to take his next step," Hannover coach Andre Breitenreiter said.

The 23-year-old Arsenal striker spend the last two seaons on loan at Stuttgart where he scored five goals and provided four assists in 41 competitive outings.

Hannover's loanee is since 2015 part of Japan's national team and scored three goals in 17 caps.

"I am very happy to join Hannover. I will put the pedal to the metal to repay the club's trust in me and to make the fans happy," Asano said.

Hannover completed the Bundesliga season 2017/18 on the 13th place of the standings. Enditem
