RAMALLAH, May 23 (Xinhua) -- A 15-year-old boy, who was shot by Israeli forces during clashes north of the West Bank city of Ramallah, died of his wounds on Wednesday, medical sources said.

The health ministry said in a short news text message that O'dai Abu Khalil died of his abdomen wounds at Palestine Medical Compound in the city.

The boy was shot in clashes with Israeli soldiers at the entrance of al-Bireh town north of Ramallah on May 15, the ministry said.

On May 15, thousands of Palestinians held protests to mark 70 years of the "Nakba," or the Catastrophe, which marks the displacement of some 750,000 Palestinians from their homeland during the Arab-Israeli War in 1948.
