French shares drop 1.32 pct on Wednesday

PARIS, May 23 (Xinhua) -- French shares lost on Wednesday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 down 1.32 percent, or 74.25 points, to close at 5,565.85 points.

Of the 40 selected large companies, 34 lost in the day.

French car manufacturer Renault was down 5.36 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. UK-based company that provides complete project life cycle services TechnipFMC lost 4.56 percent. French multinational integrated oil and gas company Total lost 3.10 percent.

French international cosmetics company L'Oreal rose 0.73 percent. French company that produces distilled beverages Pernod Ricard gained 0.53 percent. French multinational telecommunications corporation Orange SA up 0.47 percent. Enditem
