BEIJING, May 23 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese National Academy of Arts (CNAA) inaugurated seven workrooms for scholars and artists on Wednesday, with Nobel laureate Mo Yan included.

Apart from Mo, the workrooms were set up for musicologist Tian Qing, pipa (a four-stringed Chinese musical instrument) performer Wu Yuxia, as well as painters Tian Liming, Yang Feiyun, He Jiaying and Zhao Jiancheng.

"With the seven workrooms, we're encouraged and expected to work harder and make our contribution to the nation and people," said Mo in a speech.

Art forms should learn from each other and communicate with the outside world, which helps progresses in artistic creation, Mo said. Enditem
