NAIROBI, May 23 (Xinhua) -- The following are the news highlights in Kenyan media outlets on Wednesday.

-- Opposition leader Raila Odinga returns home on Wednesday after a week-long trip to London, but he will be welcomed not by the amity he left behind but growing political animosity that is putting his unity pact with President Uhuru Kenyatta to test.

Odinga comes back just three days after Kenyatta rebuffed his calls for a referendum to change the constitution if their March 9 deal is to succeed, and also to alter the structure of the executive and the constitution.

The nine-point agenda Odinga and Kenyatta agreed on addresses ethnic antagonism, lack of national ethos, inclusivity, ending divisive elections and ensuring security of Kenyans. (Daily Nation)

-- The figures used to calculate allocations to counties will come under greater scrutiny after findings that three units with inflated population numbers got 150 million U.S. dollars more than their rightful share. (The Standard)

-- Seven years after Kenya invaded Somalia to tame terror attacks, the army is still lodged in the country as the threat from al-Shabab remains. The Kenya Defence Forces have had some ups and down and any plans to leave the country are pegged on the militants' threat. (The Star)

-- Kenya hopes to bag high-profile deals and learn from rich countries as it prepares to host its first international conference on blue economy later this year.

Heads of States and governments as well as more than 6,000 delegates are expected in the country for the three-day event that starts on Nov. 26. (Business Daily) Enditem
