Corinthians coach Carille departs for Al-Wehda

RIO DE JANEIRO, May 22 (Xinhua) -- Brazilian coach Fabio Carille has left Corinthians to join Saudi Arabia's Al-Wehda, both clubs confirmed.

The 44-year-old ended weeks of speculation by agreeing to terms for a two-year deal on Tuesday.

"It was communicated to us today that Fabio Carille accepted a proposal from Al-Wehda," Corinthians said on their officials website. "The club thanks him for his 10 years of service as an assistant and head coach."

Carille, who took over from Tite when the latter was named Brazil coach in June 2016, led Corinthians to the 2017 Brazilian Serie A title.

Osmar Loss, an assistant coach under Carille, will take charge of the Sao Paulo club for the rest of the 2018 season, the statement added. Enditem
