Goalkeeper Cech wins Czech Golden Ball award

PRAGUE, May 22 (Xinhua) -- Goalkeeper Petr Cech, 36, won the Golden Ball award for the best Czech footballer of the season for the 12th time, the poll organisers announced on Tuesday.

This is the third time in a row for Cech, who plays for English Premier League giants Arsenal, to win this award.

Cech, former captain of the Czech Republic national team, won 919 points in the 22nd Golden Ball sport journalists' poll. Midfielder Antonin Barak and defender Pavel Kaderabek took the second and third place with 728 points and 657 points respectively. Enditem
