Dollar bounces back to 111 yen zone on rise in U.S. Treasury yields

TOKYO, May 22 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar bounced back to the lower 111 yen zone on Tuesday following a rise in long-term U.S. Treasury yields.

As markets closed here, the dollar was quoted at 111.07-09 yen compared with 110.99-111.09 yen in New York and 111.35-37 yen at 5 p.m. on Monday in Tokyo, with the currency being exchanged most frequently at 110.95 yen during trading hours.

The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.1817-1818 dollars and 131.25-29 yen against 1.1786-1796 dollars and 130.83-93 yen in New York and 1.1725-1726 dollars and 130.56-60 yen in late Monday afternoon trade in Tokyo. Enditem
