WARSAW, May 11 (Xinhua) -- Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski will lead the Poland's preliminary World Cup squad, as the country's football governing body announced on Friday.

Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, Napoli forward Arkadiusz Milik and veteran midfielder Jakub Blaszczykowski are also named in the 35 players list.

Lewandowski has scored 52 goals in 93 appearances in international games, but has never played a World Cup in his career.

The 29-year-old has won the Bundesliga title with his club Bayern Munich and scored 29 goals during the campaign, almost twice as the second-ranked player.

The Poland team, preparing for their first World Cup since 2006, are drawn to Group H with Senegal, Colombia and Japan in Russia 2018. They will play friendlies with Chile on June 8 and Lithuania four days later. Enditem
