Senior Chinese official calls for confidence in cultural reform

A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Thursday called for strong cultural confidence to push forward the reform of culture in the new era.

Huang Kunming, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks at a symposium on deepening structural reform of the cultural sector, held in Shenzhen of south China's Guangdong Province.

Huang stressed efforts to develop a socialist culture with Chinese characteristics, inspire the cultural creativity of the nation, increase the international influence of Chinese culture and help socialist culture flourish.
