Rhino horn product intercepted in Yunnan

KUNMING, May 10 (Xinhua) -- Customs officials in southwest China's Yunnan Province have intercepted a product made of rhino horns.

Customs staff in Tengchong City intercepted an abnormal parcel on Monday and found a ring-shaped product made of rhino horn. The product weighed 757 grams.

The case is under further investigation.

Rhinoceros is one of the key protected species in the world. Transactions of rhino horns and related products have been banned in China since 1993, and the sale, purchase, transportation and mailing of them are illegal. Enditem
